Solar bike paths like in The Netherlands

What about new smart ways of harnessing solar energy? What if sunny Australia followed the example of The Netherlands? Here, two new cycleways were fitted with photovoltaic coating that can generate 148 watts of solar power per sq. meter. Each bike path covers 1000 sq. meters and features solar panels encased in resin, that will resist wear and tear. Hopefully, the paths will produce 160 megawatt-hours of renewable energy in the first year to feed into the grid.đź’ˇSource: bicyclenetwork.com.au

Points

Because the sun is abundant over Australia, and we should find better ways to use its energy for our own benefit.

I am not convinced that solar panels are safe at their end of life. So much mystery about this
