Improve opportunities for active and public transport

The use of fossil fuels in cars, making short and long trips increases our overall emissions. While electric vehicles can reduce emissions, it would be even better to reduce the number of trips made using cars. This could also improve physical health, if people are walking/cycling and using public transport more, but it needs to be done safely and systematically. Improve bike and walking infrastructure, ensure safe cycling and walking paths are established throughout the electorate.

Points

Recently could not drive due to an operation and discovered how easy it can be to use public transport - provided I'm not rushing. A positive form this is I have slowed my pace of life.

Better cycle ways between suburbs, more pedestrian only spaces in urban and suburban cities that are supported by centralised parking areas and quick connecting public transport would be greatly appreciated.

It is healthier
