To raise awareness of the West Beach and Breakwater Arm and to promote them as historic places of interest and beauty in order to attract more visitors to the Town and thereby help to diversify and grow the local economy. Also to improve public facilities in this area in anticipation of greater numbers of visitors through additional seating and static BBQ areas; signage, and public toilets.
Adding toilets, seating and clearing up will enhance the area
The West Beach and Breakwater Arm are probably one of East Sussex's best kept secrets. Greater awareness of them and their history and the beautiful views from the sea wall area would add value to one of East Sussex's top tourist attractions which is Newhaven's Fort. Better public facilities in the immediate area would facilitate some low-cost days out for families and help bring more visitors in general into the Town of Newhaven and help kick-start the local economy and help regeneration.
