Those most affected should be most decisive

The perspectives of people who have direct personal experience of the UK immigration process and/or racial injustice are encouraged, valued and decisive in this strand of AMP.

Points

This could include ranking the full list of ideas in priority order and then choosing the most popular idea after such a process to use it as the focus for lobbying and advocacy before, during and after the West Yorkshire mayoral election.

One of the City of Sanctuary network principles is: "Engage people seeking sanctuary in decision making processes at all levels and in all activities"

Access to the decision-making process is so much harder for people in destitution, who may not be aware of local structures. So we'd have to work hard to provide the personal or technological conduit for asylum seekers' views to be heard
