Participatory Budgeting

Participatory Budgeting

Participatory Budgeting can be described as “Local People deciding how to allocate part of a public budget.” It is a way for citizens to have a direct say in how public funds are used to address local needs...In other words, if it feels like we have decided, it’s PB. If it feels like someone else has decided, it isn't.

Points

see open government ideas page here - lots of potential for PB to be scaled up! https://nideclaration.yrpri.org/group/9552
