There is no need to say how important water is especially on small island with no rivers or mountains like Malta. My suggestion is to educate people about this and incentivize water conservation. How? Grants for new buildings who dig wells/cistern. Grants for existing premises to renovate existing cisterns and start re using them. A new tariff which makes first X amounts of units cheaper if the household does not exceed a certain amount (improvement on existing rates). Regards.
Many houses in Malta and Gozo have wells in their houses with are underutilized because of lack of maintenance and damage. These could be regenerated by means of a scheme to help these households return these wells to provide for the conservation of this important resource.
