ICT systems and services are currently responsible for 8 to 10% of the EU’s electricity consumption and up to 4% of its carbon emissions (http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-13-231_en.htm, 18 March 2013). Though we may utilise technology to improve renewable energy and minimise the environmental impact.

Points

A green computer is a computer designed to save energy. This device is built from environmental friendly materials and features low power consumption. An example of a very low consumption office desk setup is with the Microsoft display dock. The organisation will need to invest in buying a mobile device (eg. Lumia 950 XL), Microsoft display dock, monitor, Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Storage using one drive or any other cloud storage. Further info may be provided upon request.
